I’m Robin Snyder-Drummond, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I help families with any of their concerns about providing breast milk to their child. The best part of my job is seeing families relax and enjoy their baby.
I’m located in Ellsworth, Maine.
For over twenty five years, I met with families during the childbearing year: in prenatal classes, at births, in homes. Over and over, I saw how babies and parents are designed to be together. I believe that Nature plans for success and you, as a healthy person, are an important part of that success.
I first supported expectant families as a certified childbirth educator and DONA certified doula. It was clear, especially in the first weeks, that families need consistent, accurate information and realistic plans for breastfeeding.
To best address those concerns, I earned my certification as an IBCLC in 2009. I’ve met with families in their home, in hospitals, for office visits and in local parent groups. Please ask your questions, I’m glad to help clarify things for you.
We can schedule an office consultation in Ellsworth through Anchored Women’s Health.
and through The Lactation Network. See my Services page for the list of insurance that covers these visits.
At each visit, we’ll review your concern, weigh your baby before and after a feeding, discuss adjustments and make a plan together. You’ll receive a written review to help you remember.
A Breastfeeding Support Package is six visits, starting with one prenatal and follow up in the next eight weeks. This will help with understanding and support for the first days and weeks. These are office visits at Anchored Women’s Health in Ellsworth.
What is an IBCLC?
An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. The IBCLC credential is the only internationally recognized accreditation for lactation consultants. Of the 14 other certifications for lactation education, the IBCLC is the most rigorous.
Qualifying for the IBCLC exam requires college level courses, lactation specific education and up to 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience (meeting mothers and babies one-on-one). Then there’s the international exam to pass. Since 2009, I’ve been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I also completed the Herbal Support in Lactation and Infant Care for the Health Professional course with Melissa Cole,MS,IBCLC, RLC
