Welcome to this Birthready blog

Welcome to my BirthReady blog.

For ten years, I’ve been practicing as an IBCLC in the Boston area and now I am based in Ellsworth, Maine. It’s good to be here.

I began this blogroll in 2009. It’s a place to clarify questions, share stories and news about breastfeeding, public health policies and anything related to lactation. There’s lots to discuss.

When you sign up for my newsletter, you will receive this updated blog roll in a monthly email.

Learn what your body already knows.
That’s been my guiding principle for the past several decades. Women are designed to grow, give birth to and nourish their babies.  I’m continually delighted to learn of the many profound things the body does… and has been doing for millenia!

“Mother Nature is so marvelous and sacred that if you listen to her,
she will teach you to be conscious and to value yourself as a human being”.

-Doña Enriqueta Contreras, a traditional Mexican midwife in her eighth decade.

You can contact me if you have a question to ask or a story to share. I look forward to hearing from you.

This lovely website was made possible by BKJ Productions.
