Breastfeeding can be a comfortable habit in your life. That takes patience and practice, not pain. Let’s find what works for you and your baby.
We can have an lactation consult at Anchored Women’s Health in Ellsworth, ME.
We’ll review your health history, the baby’s health and how things have been going. There will be time to answer your questions. In addition, we can weigh your baby before and after a feed so you know how much your baby got at that feeding. We’ll work on things to do and I’ll give you a written plan at the end of our visit. We can schedule a follow up visit if you’d like. You can bring a support person with you. Most insurance plans are accepted.
Consider a prenatal class. Get answers to your specific questions and assuage your worries. Bring your support people (friends, grandparents…) to the classes, too. I provide clear information and allow plenty of time for your questions.
I also offer Tummy Time! Method sessions.
I first saw how this was helpful for babies with feeding difficulties. Babies do need to move their bodies and spend time on their tummies. Gently help your baby unfurl and align their bodies. Learn about your baby’s natural development and specific movements that ease their alignment and comfort. Equally important, this is a pleasant time to connect with your baby.
As I’ve met with families over twenty years, it’s always been true that time to talk and ask questions is so valuable.
Every family needs a calm, safe environment to adjust and grow. It’s fundamental to our health.
